- Find out a little bit about the client and how they got into the innkeeping business.
(Take notes, you’ll be able to use this info in the intros.)- Tell me about how you got started and why?
- What are your favorite things about the property? What’s unique?
- What do you love most about the town/area? What’s unique?
- What are the main things people come there to do? (Get away from it all? Relax? Specific things about their area that attract visitors?)
- What is your target audience?
- Is the property pet-friendly? Kid-friendly?
- What major towns do your guests visit and how far away are they?
- Brand voice –
- What would you say your “voice” is? What is your brand – reliable, trusted, playful, etc.?
- Where are you trying to go w/ your blogs?
- Really ground me on the voice.
- Who are your customers?
- Why are they coming to you?
- What do they want to do there? What do you need to tell them?
- Go over the questionnaire.
(Take notes for inspiration for the intros.)- Let them know we will fill in additional info and typically focus our research within an hour of the property.
- Remind them that we will use stock images for the Vacation Guide unless they provide them. We will also use stock images for the blogs. They ensure our blogs have a professional look and we are paying for the rights to use them, which protects everyone from the accidental usage of an image we don’t have permission to use.
- At the end, tell them the next steps in the process.
- CEM will send them a draft in about a week. That’s the time to review and make any changes. Once it goes into layout, it’s harder to make additions. The final step will be to review the designed version. The CEM will be in touch with them regarding those steps.
- Let them know that if they think of other things they’d like to include, just email them to the CEM and they will pass them along.
