Below are some tips regarding how to successfully deliver a Marketing Strategy Calendar to a client. Please add anything you see fit!
General Tips
- Prior to the call, review the calendar and make note of any questions you have for the customer regarding a specific keyword topic, event, etc. Ask these questions during the call.
- Send the calendar to the customer before the call and ask them if they have any questions.
- Start by walking the customer through each of the sections & explaining what they mean.
Keyword Tips
- Explain the “why” behind the keywords by providing some details regarding the keyword selection process. For example, keywords are chosen based on relevance, searcher intent, number of searches, and competitiveness.
- For a particular keyword topic, ask the customer if there’s anything they DON’T want to include (e.g. a specific restaurant or attraction).
- Tie the keyword back to the goal and the stage in the sales funnel – “This keyword is meant to help potential guests transition into the planning phase and the goal is to get them to download the Vacation Guide.”
- Always come with an extra keyword handy. That way, if a customer doesn’t like a keyword, you immediately have a replacement option.
