Remove Lead Generation From a Non-Marketing Q4L Website

If a customer moves away from marketing services and stays for Website Product, the lead generation tool will need to be removed.

1. Remove the Lead Generation Tool Page

  1. If the lead gen tool is a PDF, delete it from the media gallery.
  2. If it is an online guide, remove the Q4 online guide plugin.
      1. To remove, Dashboard > Plugins > Installed Plugins > Q4 Online Guide > Deactivate (beneath the plugin name)
      2. Permanently Deleted the Guide page
      3. Should be indicated by the password-protected page
      4. Dashboard > Pages > Delete > Trash > Delete Permanently

2. Remove the Request Vacation Guide Page

  1. Permanently Delete the Request Page
    1. Dashboard > Pages > Locate the page
    2. Redirect the Request Vacation Page
      1. Dashboard > Tools > Redirection
      2. Redirect the former request page to the things to do page
        1. Include slugs only in the redirect without the domain.
        2. Example:
          1. setting a redirect from a vacation guide request page to the things to do page
    3. Or, Front-end of the site > Tout > Follow the Link > Edit Page > Trash > Pages > Trash > Permanently Delete

3. Replace the Tout (If Applicable)

  1. The Vacation Guide/Lead Generation Tool is likely used in the touts, both on the homepage and in the sidebar.
  2. Update the tout from the Vacation Guide/Lead Tool to another revenue-driving page on the site. Some examples include:
    1. BB/HIL:
      1. Specials/Packages
      2. Book Now (link to booking engine)
      3. Weddings
      4. Restaurant
      5. Contact Us
      6. About Us
    2. VR:
      1. Search by Area (if page exists)
      2. Concierge Services (if page exists)
      3. Specials/Packages
      4. Contact Us
      5. About Us
  3. Update Homepage Touts
    1. Front-end of site > Edit Page > Touts > (make below updates) >
      1. Update both the Image Link and the Flyover Text (in Text view only)
      2. Copy and paste in the slug only with the backslash.
      3. Find an appropriate image.
  4. Update Sidebar Touts
    1. Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Primary > Sidebar Touts – Q4FW > Save.
      1. Copy and paste in the slug only with the backslash.
      2. Find an appropriate image.

4. Remove Request Page From Navigation Menus

  1. Main Navigation: Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Menus > Primary Nav or Currently set to: Primary Navigation > Guide Menu Item > Expand the arrow on the right-hand side of the page name > Remove in the lower left corner.
  2. Useful Links/Footer Navigation: Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Menus > Primary Nav or Currently set to: Footer Navigation > Guide Menu Item > Expand the arrow on the right-hand side of the page name > Remove in the lower left corner.

5. Lead Tool Software Plugin Removal:

  1. Dashboard > Plugins > Installed Plugins > Lead Tool Software (ActiveCampaign, MailChimp, Campaign Monitor, etc.) > Deactivate (beneath the plugin name)

6. If the customer is not retaining email marketing and lead generation services, alert your team lead to removing their email marketing account.
