What Search Criteria Is a Must Have?

These will be what is listed in the search bar on the site. Typically, we’ll have the following:

  • Check-in
  • Checkout
  • Number of guests
  • Number of bedrooms (minimum)
  • Advanced

For the Advanced section, this is where we’ll list any additional amenities for the search. Examples of these being:

  • Hot Tub
  • Private Beach
  • Mountainview
  • Oceanfront
  • Beach Access
  • Pets Allowed
  • Exact bedrooms
  • Minimum bathrooms
  • Location

  • When setting this up, review the All Q4Launch Websites Workbook for a quick view of our customers to reference the search bar set up.
  • If the customer has a set-up in line with the onboarding customer, connect with the internal team and be added to their site to reference the configuration and size formatting.

What Are The Customer’s Preferences?

These are specific preferences that we may need additional time to set up. The backend developer will usually have to set these up for the customer. Examples include:

  • Coupons
  • Rate Table
  • Truplace, Matterport
  • Map Settings
  • Custom Messaging Options*

Other customer requests:

  • Some options are available in certain PMSes while others may not be.

Another component of this is the Sort Preference. Typically, we’ll pull what’s possible via the API and normally what’s the current option for customers on their previous site. Make sure we have this determined before alerting the back-end developer.

*When updating the custom messaging options, follow these steps:

Dashboard > Settings > Q4VR Settings > Q4VR Custom Messages > No Search Results

Homework

  1. Review the Search Criteria for the Client. They would like Location and View to show in the Search Bar with Location and View in as the 2 options in Advanced Search.
  2. The customer wants to have TruPlace floorplans on the website and custom messaging for “No Results Found.” They would like the message to be “Your search did not return any results; please broaden your search or call the office for availability at 1-555-987-1234! Check out some of our other properties below.”
  3. The customer would like to change the Property Page to read “Dogs Welcome” versus “Pets Welcome.”

Once you’ve completed this, let your mentor know and they will review it!
